Conferencias sobre Gaza en Facultad de Políticas (UCM) a cargo de Gihan Abouzeid y Chris Hables Gray (miércoles 29 de mayo)

El 29 de mayo de 2024, a las 11:30 en la Sala de Juntas de la Facultad de CC. Políticas y Sociología, el investigador y activista Chris Hables Gray (University of California-Santa Cruz) y la periodista y asesora en derechos humanos y desigualdad Gihan Abouzeid impartirán respectivamente las conferencias “The US View of Israeli Ethnic Cleansing in Gaza” y "The Crisis in the Middle East in Light of the Gaza Genocide: A Feminist Perspective”. El acto será moderado por Isaias Barreñada Bajo (Departamento RRII, UCM, especialista en Israel-Palestina y Medio Oriente) y presentado por Angel Gordo (TRANSOC/CIBERSOMOSAGUAS).
Gihan Abouzeid is an Egyptian journalist who writes for some Arab periodicals and regularly speaks on the BBC and DW Deutsche Welle T.V. She is a consultant for the Arab NGO Network for Development and a freelance consultant on development issues with the UN agencies and other international organizations, in addition to the journalistic work. She lives in Cairo, Egypt and Potsdam, Germany.
Chris Hables Gray is a Californian academic who currently teaches at the University of California at Santa Cruz. His book on contemporary conflict, Postmodern War, was once a required text for higher officers in the Israeli military and more recently was translated by the Iranian army. He also studies and participates in protest movements, such as the wave of student camps around the world opposing the Gaza occupation, which includes one at his home campus.
